< img src =”bustedpipe.jpg” alt = “metal water pipe with leaking water pouring out" > A water leak can turn into a big problem. Contact the SERVPRO of Rockwall/Rowlett team if you are dealing with any water damage.

Quick—can you name the sources of water damage in your home? You might easily name storms, old roofing, floods and even leaky appliances. One source of water damage that often falls out of sight/out of mind…leaky pipes!

If you do have leaking pipes in your home or business, you need to promptly locate them. Unlike storm damage, slow leaks are not usually covered by insurance.

Maybe you’ve never done a plumbing of any size. The prospect can seem scary. But if it’s in an accessible place, you can often fix a leaky pipe by yourself. This video and many others like it show you the basics of fixing a leaky pipe.

Find It. Fix It. Or Get Help.

Where is the leak? What should you look for when you suspect a leak…or feel actual dampness around your toes?

  • Ceiling stains
  • Damaged flooring
  • Loose, flaking caulking or grout
  • Looseness of your sink faucet or handles
  • Mold or mildew
  • Puddles (of course)
  • Tiles that keep coming up
  • Toilet that moves when you rock it

Pinpoint the exact source. Saying, “My bathroom plumbing is leaking” is just the first step. Any number of pipes might be causing your bathroom tile to come up. Now, it’s time to narrow down. Check the access panel behind your tub. Look under countertops. Try partially filling your tub or sink. See if you can find water welling up around any pipe joints you see. (Small leaks can be detected by wrapping a dry paper towel around the joint.)

DIY, or call an expert? If you can see and get your hands around a leaky pipe, you can likely repair it yourself. But plenty of leaks are just hard to get to. Or maybe you still can’t pin down a source. Call in a reputable plumber to take it from there. Even for small leaks, early attention will save you money down the road.

Timing Matters When Your Home Is Damaged| SERVPRO® of Rockwall/Rowlett

black glasses and pen sitting on top of white insurance policy If your home is damaged due to a disaster, Contact SERVPRO of Allen. From start to finish, we will be here to help.

If you have to file an insurance claim for home damage in 2021, you won’t be alone. In fact, millions of Americans every year have to file claims on their homeowners insurance to have their homes restored and repaired.

The reasons for these claims can vary. Some are the result of natural disasters. Accidents cause others.

They’re sometimes caused by severe weather issues, like wind, hail and rain. Other common causes include home accidents and appliance malfunctions.

Of course, the damage levels vary, too. Some homes only need a little work and remediation to return to their original state. Others need more intensive repairs and remediation work.

But they all have one thing in common. The sooner they begin the process of repairing their homes, the better the results are.

<h2timing-makes-a-difference">Your Timing Makes a Difference

Home damage can spread and worsen much faster than you might expect, and the results can make the repair and remediation process much more intensive.

Water warps wood in a few days. Mold signs can start to show up just as quickly. And the longer these problems persist, the more intense (and costly) the remediation services can become.

We know it’s important to start the home restoration process fast, so our team makes it easy to get in touch with us. We’re always here when you need restoration and repair work. You can get in touch with our team at any time.

We’re here 247, so we’re available on nights and weekends, too. You can trust that we will be ready when you need help.

Beyond speed, there are plenty of other reasons, so many residents trust us to do their restoration work.

We are locally owned and operated. When you call our team, you’re reaching out to your friends and neighbors. We take pride in what we offer to our community and always do our best to meet your needs.

Our technicians are educated experts. Our technicians are passionate about providing the best services and work possible. That means they’re consistently going through training and earning certifications. They bring that knowledge to work on your home.

Our teams use the latest technology. Our connection to SERVPRO nationally means we have access to the types of technology that are only available to large, established companies. We use that technology and those methods to work you on your home.

If your home is damaged due to fire, water or any other cause, you can always count on us for restoration assistance. We have teams who are available 247 in the event of an emergency. Contact us at any time to learn more about our restoration services and how we can help your family.

Finding a Restoration Company You Can Trust

11/1/2021 (Permalink)

three green SERVPRO trucks lined up on a side street You can rest easy knowing you’ve got the trusted leader in the restoration industry on the other end of the line, SERVPRO of Rockwall/Rowlett.

Disasters come in all shapes and size—there is no one size fits all! Whether you’ve experienced a tornado, severe thunderstorm, fire or a flood, odds are you’re going to need the services of a restoration company.

When the time comes, you’re going to need to act quickly to decide who is going to be your restoration partner.

There are some vital questions you need to ask when looking for a service and restoration company:

Are They Trustworthy?

Sadly, not everyone who shows up after a disaster is here to help. Disasters bring out scammers, and all they want is a quick buck without having to do the work. Local contractors with ties to the community are in it for the long haul.

We’ve been around the block, so to speak. We’re part of a national company that has been in business for over 50 years, and we’ve been helping people that entire time. We have millions of satisfied customers to prove it.

Moreover, national brands like the PGA Tour trust us to get their facilities and tour stops and restored should a disaster strike an event.

How Fast Can They Get to Me?

Speed is important during an emergency. You’ve got to reach someone right away, and they should have the resources to respond to your needs immediately. Especially if it’s a large local disaster.

When a storm rips through town and creates a mess, we’re on call 24 hours a day to respond to your restoration needs.

Is a Fleet Available If Local Resources Can’t Handle It?

SERVPRO of Rockwall/Rowlett is locally owned and operated, which means there’s always a team right here in town ready to act. But if there is a surge of activity at hand, your local franchise is backed by the full, nationwide network of SERVPRO franchises.

We’re experts at sending disaster response teams from across the region to support a franchisee that is experiencing significant demand. This ensures every homeowner gets the attention they deserve.

When you call SERVPRO, you can rest easy knowing you’ve got the trusted leader in the restoration industry on the other end of the line. When disaster hits home, contact us to get our local experts and nationwide network on your side.
